Apatinib (rivoceranib) is an orally available, potent, and selective inhibitor of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2) (IC50 = 1 nM) that potently blocks tumor angiogenesis and inhibits tumor growth. Apatinib exhibits encouraging antitumor efficacy and acceptable toxicities in multiple clinical trials. It also mildly targets c-Kit and c-SRC tyrosine kinases.
