BB2-50F, an amiloride derivative, is a cell penetrant, selective and potent multi-targeting bioenergetic inhibitor of succinate dehydrogenase and the F1Fo-ATP synthase in Mycobacterium tuberculosis. BB2-50F act as fast acting bactericidal antibiotic in both replicating and nonreplicating cultures of M. tuberculosis (MIC = 2.6 µM in M. tuberculosis mc2 6230). BB2-50F is a potent inhibitor of bacterial motility.
