Clone REA480 recognizes the human and mouse β-catenin antigen, a 92 kDa dual function protein regulating the coordination of cell-cell adhesion and gene transcription. β-catenin is a subunit of the cadherin protein complex and acts as an intracellular signal transducer in the Wnt signaling pathway. As a component of adherens junctions, β-catenin binds cadherins, Tcf family transcription factors, and the tumor suppressor adenomatous polyposis coli (APC). Mutations and overexpression of β-catenin are associated with many cancers, including hepatocellular carcinoma, colorectal carcinoma, lung cancer, malignant breast tumors as well as ovarian and endometrial cancer.
Additional information: Clone REA480 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
