Recombinant IL11 is a bioactive protein intended for use in cell culture applications. IL11 is a cofactor in many immune responses and in cell differentiation. For example, IL11 works with IL-3 in stimulating the generation of megakaryocyte colonies. In addition, IL11 prevents cell death by apoptosis and inhibits the differentiation of preadipocytes.
