LB Broth (1X) is a ready-to-use liquid growth media used for bacterial culture. Our filter-sterilized LB Broth can be used for nearly all applications that require a liquid bacterial culturing step, such as protein expression, cloning, and expansion.
LB Broth formulation
LB Broth is one of the most referenced bacterial media for cultivating and maintaining Escherichia coli (E. coli) strains. Our LB Broth is based on the Lennox formulation, one of the most commonly used formulations for LB medium. Formulation per one liter: 10 g SELECT Peptone 140, 5 g SELECT Yeast Extract, 5 g sodium chloride.
Ready-to-use in optimized Gibco® media bottles
Each bottle of LB Broth is filter-sterilized and ready-to-use in ergonomic Gibco® media bottles with angled openings for simplified pipetting.
