Ly-6C is a 14-17 kDa GPI-linked cell surface antigen that belongs to the Ly-6 family of murine surface glycoproteins. It is expressed on monocytes in the bone marrow and shortly after their migration into the circulation. Moreover, Ly-6C is expressed on memory T cells and CD11^lowCD45R(B220)⁺ mPDCA1⁺ plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs) in different organs.
