General description
Novagen genomic DNA is a purified preparation of high molecular weight genomic DNA obtained from various organisms. During the isolation process, measures are taken to minimize shearing and eliminate contaminants that could disrupt enzymatic procedures. It has been qualified for genomic analysis, including library construction and PCR, as at least 90% of the DNA is greater than 100 kbp in size, with contour-clamped homogeneous electric field (CHEF) electrophoresis analysis showing sizes greater than 50 kbp for S. cerevisiae. Notably, no inhibition of restriction enzyme activity has been observed, and the DNA is free from protein and RNA contaminants.
Application
Ratgenomic DNA has been used as a template for the amplification of theprogression elevated gene-3 (PEG-3) gene using polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
