MGR2 is an inactive analog of and negative control for the reactive oxygen species (ROS) generator MGR1. Unlike MGR1, MGR2 does not induce cellular ROS or cause cell death at high concentrations (>5 μM; RAW264.7, THP1, HeLa, MCF7, A549).
