General description
Anti-TIE2 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total TIE2 protein.
The TIE2 (TEK receptor tyrosine kinase) gene is mapped to human chromosome 9p21.2. It is predominantly expressed in the Schlemm′s canal endothelial of the eye.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human TIE2.
Immunogen Range: 1068-1117
Biochem/physiol Actions
Tie-2 (TEK receptor tyrosine kinase) protein induces angiogenesis (both developmental and tumor) and supports endothelial cell survival, upon binding of angiopoietin-1 (an endothelial growth factor) to the receptor. Tie-2 is necessary for Schlemm′s canal formation. The gene regulates vascular homeostasis by involving in auto or transphosphorylation.
