General description

Keratin 1, type II (KRT1) is a protein of the cytoplasmic intermediate filament expressed in keratinocytes. KRT1 has an amino-terminal domain, a non-helical carboxy terminal domain and two rod domains. The gene encoding this protein is localized on human chromosome 12.

Application

Anti-KRT1 antibody produced in rabbit, a Prestige Antibody, is developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project . Biochem/physiol Actions

Keratin 1, type II (KRT1) is a marker of epithelial differentiation and mutation in the gene encoding it is associated with epidermolytic hyperkeratosis.
