Biochem/physiol Actions
髓过氧化物酶（MPO）在破坏各种微生物和外源性细胞（如细菌、真菌、病毒、红细胞以及恶性和非恶性有核细胞）中具有至关重要的作用。 MPO催化多种活性氧（ROS）的产生，这些活性氧在炎症过程中影响组织损伤。 MPO及其下游炎性途径可作为预防动脉粥样硬化性心血管疾病的有效治疗靶标。 在过氧化氢（H2O2）存在下，MPO可催化由前体（如氯酚）合成多氯代二苯并（p）二恶英和呋喃（PCDD/F）。
