General description

FCRL1 (Fc receptor–like 1) gene encodes a member of the FCRL family. It is a cell-surface membrane protein that expressed on B cells. The gene is mapped to human chromosome 1q21-23. The encoded type I transmembrane glycoprotein contains 3 extracellular immunoglobulin-like domains and 2 intracellular immunoreceptor tyrosine–based activation-like motifs.

Application

Biochem/physiol Actions

FCRL1 (Fc receptor–like 1) gene encodes a lymphocyte receptor involved in the regulation of cellular differentiation and in the modulation of the initiation and termination of B-cell responses. It may serve as an activating coreceptor on B cells. The protein may function in the regulation of cancer cell growth.
