Antiproliferative mTORC1 inhibitor
Ridaforolimus is an antiproliferative mTOR inhibitor that forms a complex with the FK506 binding protein-12 (FKBP-12), which binds to and inhibits mTOR resulting in cell cycle arrest and inhibition of tumor cell growth and proliferation. Like rapamycin, ridaforolimus affects only mTORC1, not mTORC2.
