MACS GMP PepTivator EBV Select is a peptide pool that consists of 43 lyophilized MHC class I and class II restricted peptides derived from 15 different proteins from Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). It has been developed for efficient in vitro stimulation and subsequent isolation of EBV–specific CD4+ and CD8+ T cells.
Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a human γ-herpesvirus with B cell growth–transforming ability and carcinogenic potential. More than 90% of human adults are infected with EBV. In healthy individuals, EBV typically establishes a persistent latent infection, in which the virus can be detected in resting, non-proliferating peripheral B lymphocytes.

The peptides are restricted for the following HLA-molecules: HLA-A*02, -A*03, -A*ll, -A*24, -A*26, -B*07, -B*08, -B*15, -B*18, -B*27, -B*35, -B*40, -B*4402, -DR.
MACS GMP PepTivator EBV Select can be used for a variety of applications, for example, in vitro stimulation of EBV-specific CD4+ and CD8+ T cells for the enrichment of IFN-gamma–secreting T cells using the CliniMACS® Cytokine Capture System (IFN-gamma) (# 279-01).1
