Clone REA217 recognizes CD298, the β3 subunit isoform of Na⁺, K⁺-ATPase, which is a membrane associated enzyme. Na⁺, K⁺-ATPase transports Na⁺ and K⁺ by coupling the hydrolysis of ATP to the transport of Na⁺ and K⁺. The movement of ions across the plasma membrane generates and maintains the electrochemical gradient required for osmoregulation, transport of molecules and nutrients. Na⁺, K⁺-ATPase consists of large catalytic α subunit and a smaller glycoprotein non-catalytic β subunit, which exists in three known isoforms.

Additional information: Clone REA217 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
