Clone REA1197 recognizes the human CD274 antigen, also known as programmed cell death 1 ligand 1 (PD-L1), an immune inhibitory receptor ligand which is involved in the costimulatory signal, essential for T cell proliferation and production of interleukin 10 (IL-10) and interferon γ (IFN-γ).
CD274 is expressed on activated T cells, B cells, dendritic cells (DCs), antigen-presenting cells, keratinocytes, monocytes, and various types of tumor cells. In tissues, CD274 is highly expressed in the heart, skeletal muscle, placenta, and lung and weakly expressed in the thymus, spleen, kidney, and liver.
PD-L1 is a type I transmembrane protein that has immunoglobulin V-like and C-like domains.
Additional information: Clone REA1197 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
