Human low density lipoprotein (LDL) is one of the key lipid:protein complexes in blood and is a crucial component of metabolism responsible for the transport of lipids throughout the body. This Low Density Lipoprotein From Human Plasma complexed with pHrodo Green dye (pHrodo Green-LDL) is a valuable tool in studies of LDL uptake through endocytosis and trafficking of LDL throughout the cell. pHrodo Green-LDL is dimly fluorescent at neutral pH outside of cells, but fluoresces brightly after endocytosis. This feature allows for a no-wash protocol when using pHrodo Green-LDL, enabling kinetic measurement of LDL uptake, endosomal maturation, and trafficking in cells. This fluorescently-labeled LDL has been designed for use with fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, cell sorting, high-throughput analysis, and high content analysis.
