Clone REAL635 is an antibody fragment derived from the full Calponin antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity.
Clone REAL635 recognizes the human Calponin, a filament-associated calcium binding protein also known as Calponin-1 or CNN1. Calponin is strongly expressed in osteoblasts and smooth muscle cells. It binds several actin binding proteins and phospholipids e.g. actin, calmodulin, troponin C and tropomyosin. Calponin plays a role in the actin-myosin interaction and inhibits the ATPase activity of myosin in smooth muscle tissue.
Calponin-1 belongs to cancer-releated genes and operates as a biomarker particulary as prognostic marker in tumor cells.
For removal of REAdye_lease fluorochromes for optional relabeling with different fluorochrome-conjugated REAdye_lease antibodies use the REAlease Support Kit (130-120-675).
