Application

Biochem/physiol Actions

C1R (complement component 1, r subcomponent) gene encodes a subcomponent of C1, the first component of the classical pathway of the complement system. C1 also contains the subcomponents C1q and C1s. These three subcomponents form a complex in the presence of Ca²⁺. C1r is a proteinase that activates C1s and is also capable of hydrolysing some synthetic lysine and arginine esters.
