Application
Hanks′平衡盐溶液已用于：
- 哺乳动物细胞的饥饿实验
- 收集和维持脑片用于原代胶质细胞培养

Biochem/physiol Actions
平衡盐溶液(BSS)在细胞培养中起多种作用。维持细胞渗透压平衡，作为灌洗、运输和稀释用液。BSS提供正常细胞代谢必需的水和大量无机离子。加入葡萄糖等糖类可提供细胞代谢所需主要能量。BSS的缓冲能力可使培养基维持在生理pH范围内(7.2-7.6)。
