Pinaverium bromide is a calcium channel blocker used as antispasmodics medication for treatment of gastrointestinal disorders. Pinaverium bromide exhibits potent antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and E. faecalis that rapidly kills S. aureus planktonic cells. Pinaverium bromide potently inhibits growth of S. aureus CHS101 persister cells and biofilm formation.
